Connecting Sierra Chart to the Tryout

In order to get started, you'll need to complete the following steps carefully:

You will need a live futures trading account to Tryout. You won't be trading on it live, you just need to have one to get the simulated data feed with us.

If you do not have a live futures trading account, feel free to open one with EdgeClear (no affiliation). This needs to be completed before getting live market data from Sierra Chart.

If you already use Sierra chart or have their Denali feed already, you will skip a few of these steps.

Getting Setup with Sierra Charts:

  1. Create a Sierra Charts Account - Here

  2. Once your account is created, download the latest version of Sierra - Here

  3. Complete the two real-time agreements - Sign the Agreements

  4. On the Sierra Chart website, go to the 'Account Management tab and select 'Activate Services.'

  5. Select a Service Package that includes the Denali Data Feed and click the button 'Update/Set'

  6. You'll then be prompted to pay for all these services and provided links in real-time.

  7. After you've paid, scroll down to the Denali Exchange Data Feed and the link 'Activate / Deactivate Denali Exchange Data Feed Exchanges'

  8. Most of you will select the first or second option. The first is the full CME package with market depth for $31.20/mo. The second option is $3.25/mo. Unless your strategy relies heavily on seeing market depth (most do not), choose the cheaper option > Select 'Activate.'

  9. Final Step: Please send your Sierra Chart Account Name to support@apterostrading.com. This is the username you use to log into the Sierra Chart website.

After you have completed these instructions, you'll get an email from us when you are ready to begin.

Setup Time: Once you've sent over your Sierra Chart username, understand that Sierra Chart requires a manual process to add you to our system. Unfortunately, they don't offer an automated setup, so expect a 24 to 48-hour window before you're fully onboarded. We appreciate your patience as we navigate their process.

Logging in and Trading:

  1. Start Sierra Chart on your PC, and log in.

  2. Go to File > Data/Trade Service Settings and set your service to 'Trading Evaluator [Trading]'. Do not select the delayed version of the Trading Evaluator just below it.

  3. You're now ready to trade for your Tryout account!
